Teaching is in my blood. For more than 30 years I taught counseling courses to adults going into various types of helping ministries. After retiring 5 years ago, I continued teaching at various seminaries and today I am still teaching at a large psychotherapy institute in NY City. I started my fitness career as a student but found myself drawn to teaching. I hold a black belt in Kung fu and am certified to teach step aerobics, TRX, and body conditioning/boot camp which I have taught at the Monroe YMCA and at the JCC. I was one of the first to join the Masters program at Brickyard when it began almost 4 years ago. I love the variety and practicality of the movements and the opportunity to constantly challenge myself to be better. Most of all I love the wonderful people I have met in CrossFit. I have a number of physical limitations and the coaches have worked with me to modify movements to my ability. I was honored to be asked to help coach when we were short on available coaches. I started helping more and more and decided to get the level one training to coach the Masters whenever they need me. My proudest accomplishment has been returning to CrossFit after having to take 6 months off after I fell walking a dog and dislocated, shattered and broke my wrist. i almost gave up three times, but got though it with the support of my Brickyard friends.
I love people and especially love helping people feel good about themselves. I love making learning fun while also working hard. I am always looking for the next challenge and want my CF friends to join me on the journey. I especially want people to know CrossFit will work with you - in your strengths and in your limitations.
